New to Padel? Start Here

Your first steps into padel

New to padel? You're in the right place.

At FIRST COURT, we believe getting started should be simple. Whether you're playing your first match or looking for your first racket, we're here to help you get on court with confidence.

What do you need to start playing?

You don't need loads of equipment. Start with a suitable padel racket, comfortable sports clothing, court-appropriate footwear and padel balls.

Choosing your first racket

If you're new to padel, look for a racket that feels comfortable and easy to control. Round-shaped rackets are often a good starting point because they tend to offer a forgiving sweet spot.

Build your first kit

Start with the basics, then add the extras that suit your routine.

  • Padel balls for practice and matches.
  • Grips and overgrips to refresh your racket handle.
  • Padel bags to carry your kit.
  • Comfortable sports clothing. FIRST COURT clothing is in development; the range and launch date are TBC.

Before your first session

Check your club’s footwear requirements, bring water and give yourself time to warm up. A coached introduction can help you learn court positioning and practise the basics.

Look after your equipment

Follow the manufacturer’s care instructions. Let damp kit dry before storing it and check your grip regularly for wear.
